Inspired by nature, our Hamali Block Coffee Table is made from reclaimed teak, combining the warmth and character of beautifully aged teak with modern style.
The recycled teakwood that we especially source for its unique characteristics is reclaimed after being discarded when old Javanese buildings are dismantled after no longer being safe to live in.
After enduring harsh weather conditions for decades, our recycled teak develops a beautiful character with a rustic, engraved look that adds an element of life to our designs. We embrace these features as a testament to the unique qualities of natural materials; they are an integral and sort after part of our design process.
While the design of our recycled wood pieces remains the same, every piece will have its own unique characteristics as part of the authenticity of reclaimed wood. This means slight irregularities may occur in size and finish specifications.

Every Uniqwa piece has a story…
Our collections are mostly individually hand-made pieces. As most of our products are made from natural materials, elements such as texture, colour, and pattern may vary piece to piece.
Reclaimed timbers, naturally weathered materials and off-cuts otherwise discarded are frequently part of Uniqwa design features.
Natural splitting, cracking, and loss of natural oils may occur and form part of the characteristics and beauty of Uniqwa products. These are not viewed as imperfections or faults, rather part of the natural life and beauty of timber.
We believe the use of natural materials and hand-crafted elements result is a testament to the unique qualities found in materials originating from nature.
As every monitor displays different colour tones, the colour of pictures on our website and social media cannot be taken as a true colour indication of the actual products. Some product's tones may appear to vary from catalogue or website images.
NATURAL TIMBER MAINTENANCE
Weather events such as high humidity and dampness, especially after periods of high rainfall, commonly cause mildew and mould to grow on the surface of wood.
While we favour the look of raw sanded wood, coating wood pieces with a wood sealer/water repellent product such as varnish or lacquer can help to make mould easier to remove from the surface or keep it from growing.
A coated product will cause moisture to bead up and run off the surface instead of penetrating and allowing mould spores and mildew to grow. Please note that adding a coating to the product will change the look and feel of the wood.
If you prefer to retain the original raw look that we favour and mould does appear, using a mould remover as soon as possible after the mould develops is advised to clean and maintain your product.
Should the mould have sunken roots into the wood, light sanding with fine sandpaper may become necessary to restore your piece.
